[At L's behest, a young, blonde cat burglar breaks into Roger's office. The thief takes nothing, but leaves behind a note--signed by L--naming B as the culprit behind Roger's mysteriously malfunctioning phones and dial-up modem and urging him to take a close look at the "kiki'sdirectorscut" file on B's computer for evidence of academic malfeasance.

Around the same time, another note (ha) appears on Beyond Birthday's pillow. This one is unsigned, and reads simply: "Vici."

Wedy had suggested that would be more dignified than "Bitch."]
