I have to wonder if the point of this app is to have us all at each-others throats, perhaps with the eventual end-goal of having us kill each-other for entertainment. Like Super Smash Bros or something.

Well, that's a bit of a negative mindset, don't you think? We've been given access to a rift in multidimensional space-time. It's an incredible opportunity to learn about each other.
